Horseback riding along the Dão river
Form the Quinta do Rio Dão we organize horseback trail riding tours in the surroundings, including along the shore of the river. We have four horses available, and they are suitable both for people that have never ridden before as well as experienced riders. Also children over 4 years old can participate in horse riding tours.

The ride
On our horseback riding tours you will go over trails passing through changing landscapes, from farmland land to forests, with stunning views over the river and the surroundings. The shortest ride lasts an hour and you will be accompanied, on foot or mounted, depending on your experience, by one of our guides, Juliette or Gil. Even if you have a very limited amount of experience you can already be guided on horseback. For smaller children we have a special "first experience", where it will be explained not only how to ride a horse, but much more about horses.
Horseback riding - how to dress
Wear easy fitting clothing, that can be scraped by a branch and long trousers. Closed shoes are mandatory, and we will provide you with a cap (helmet), and insurance.

Diploma
Our guide Juliette has a "Acompanhante de Turismo Esquestre" (Equestrian Tourism Guide) diploma, a certificate recognized by the Portuguese Horse Riding Federation.
