As described on the Casa das Mimosas-page, this cottage is divided in two parts. The upper part is a two-bedroom apartment, with all rooms on the same floor. The apartment has a private garden with olive trees and oaks. The sitting /dining room with open-plan kitchen and open fireplace has a superb veranda with a barbecue and a panoramic view. The veranda can also be reached from the garden.

Casa das Mimosas is located less than 100 meters from the river and can be rented, with self-catering or bed & breakfast, the whole year around. The upper part has room for 4 adults and 2 children, in extra beds in one of the rooms.

Quinta do Rio Dão is located in an excellent place, not only because it is lies directly at the shore of the river Dão, but also because it is very close to the some of the major tourist attractions of central Portugal. The highest mountain range of Portugal, the Serra da Estrela, is only a 75 minute drive away, the Serra do Caramulo mountains are 40 minutes away, the national forest of Bussaco is at 30 minutes from the Quinta and the famous historical villages of the Serra da Louçã are at about an hour's distance.
