A tour with the carriage

QUINTA DO POMBAL

Catarina Andrade and her brother Nuno Andrade are crazy about horses from childhood and they had their training in the school of the well-known master Luís Valença in Vila Franca de Xira, Portugal.
They accompanied him on many tours in and out of Europe in the Royal Horse Gala, a famous horse show that promotes the Portuguese horsemanship and the Lusitanian horse.

Therefore you can always learn a lot in the friendly, small scale riding-school of Quinta do Pombal, but there are also many things to do for those who do not, or hardly know how to ride a horse.
There is a donkey and a small pony for the children. Manuel (Catarina's husband) leads you through the beautiful green region in his carriage pulled by the Haflinger pony Melanie. In the summer season there are horse shows which demonstrate the capacities of the Lusitanian horse and the Portuguese arte of horseback-riding.

The riding school of Quinta do Pombal

Beginners can have lessons on calm horses and there are day programs for horse lovers in which you have lessons and enjoy a lovely day in the countryside taking care of  the horses.

Who knows how to ride a horse can make a tour in the beautiful surroundings of Quinta do Pombal (your companions can participate by mountain bike if not on a horse) and you can have specialized lessons where Lusitanian horses will let you enjoy the art of horse-riding even more.
The riding-school is covered-in, so even in case of bad weather or a burning sun you will be able to ride.
