The Cottages

As already has been mentioned, Quinta do Rio Dão has four cottages available for guests. Two of them are officially classified as "Agro-Turismo" and the other two as "Casas de Campo"..

Agro-Turismo

Agro-Turismo is tourism in an agriculture environment, within a rural setting and atmosphere, with the main houses encompassing architectural styles from the classic to the rustic. The two cottages belonging to the "Agro-Turismo"  are the Main House and Casa Anexo.



Casas de Campo

Casas de Campo are cottages available for guests, located in the countryside and distinguished by their type of construction, being of simple architectural style and utilising regional materials. Generally of smaller dimensions, they contain simple and practical, but comfortable furnishings. The two "Casas de Campo" are Casa das Mimosas and Casa da Abelenda




The Main House, Casa Anexo and Casa das Mimosas are spread around the country-seat at the river-side, while the fourth house, Casa da Abelenda, has its own grounds at about 500 meters from the other houses. This cottage stands isolated within 3 ha. of land with various species of trees, overlooking a lovely valley with a small stream. From the wooden veranda you can occasionally spot a fox or a wild boar.

The four cottages are decorated with rustic charm and have a homely feel about them thanks to the tasteful use of wood, traditional tiles and granite. Much privacy and tranquillity is to be found.
All of the rooms and cottages have central heating.

The Quinta offers you the choice of a room, an apartment or a whole house with magnificent views over the river.
