The Ecopista do Dão Bicycle Route
The former railway "Linha do Dão", closed in 1988, connected Santa Comba Dão with the city of Viseu. In 2011 this railway was transformed into a spectacular bike and walking path, called the "Ecopista do Dão".
With 49 km, it is not only the longest Ecopista - Greenway of Portugal, but probably the most beautiful.
Very easy to bike in a hilly area.
A large part of this path runs along the banks of the river Dão. Every bend in the river is followed by a bend in the Ecopista, with another view of the river. Because of the fact that it used to be a railway line, it is easy to cycle. There are no steep slopes in this hilly area and you will be cycling in a very beautiful landscape.

Abelenda Bicycle Rental is located directly at the Ecopista do Dão Greenway near Santa Comba Dão.
We have many types of high quality bicycles for rental.
Our standard bikes are the best for the Ecopista, but we have also mountain bikes, a tandem, child bikes and even a dog trailer and a child trailer.
We are open almost every day of the year (Closed on Wednesdays). It is necessary to make a reservation.
Transfer Service for Cyclists and Bicycles
With our transfer service we bring you and the bicycles to the other end of the Ecopista Greenway.
From there, you cycle the 47 km back on a gently sloped constant descent, making it very easy to bike.
A shorter route, 30 km, also with transfer service, is possible as well.
Minimum 2 persons and up to groups of 20+ persons.
